This is me on 1/3/17 a size 14
. This is me in 2013 at my brothers wedding, my dress was a size 20 and I was at my heaviest.
As of today January 11, 2017 I am 205 lbs and working every day towards my goal of 165. Every single day is a struggle because I am one of the pickiest eaters you will find in this lifetime. Today I managed to get up early enough to prep my meals. I normally just graze on my food throughout the day whenever I feel hungry; I’m not sure if that is a good or bad thing but I’m not consuming more than my allotted calories for the day. I try to keep snacks at work like almonds, pita and hummus but so many times I want to put down the healthy stuff and pick up a bag of Lays Salt and Vinegar chips or drink a ice cold root beer. I’m doing well so far this week, I haven’t eaten anything bad except taking two bites from my daughters ice cream bar last night.
For breakfast today I’m having 1 cup of fresh pineapple, 2 slices of low sodium turkey bacon and a half cup of unsweetened applesauce topped with cinnamon. My morning snack is an orange and apple slices.
Lunch is a Mixed green salad topped with shrimp and feta cheese, red onions and cranberries. I have home made dressing concocted of extra virgin olive oil, white vinegar and herbs. I also have 2 oz of steak bites for my mid afternoon snack.
Dinner will be 2 cups of steamed broccoli and cauliflower and grilled shrimp.
I never thought it would be so difficult to change my diet (which wasn’t horrible to begin with) but when people say you have to take it one day at a time, it is absolutely true. I’ve got today under control now there’s forever to go.
